There's plenty in Wales I believe, people have heard the noises of big cats in the forests around corwen.

When I was younger, I used to live in a village called Melbourne in East Yorkshire. There were always rumours of a big cat in the area, and my mum alleges that she saw some big yellow eyes on the other side of the beck one dusky evening 👀 I just don’t see how they could get by unnoticed by people though, given they would surely eat farmyard animals

That's interesting no1bedroomdj, I believe there was a recent case where something had killed livestock and they found some DNA, they had it tested was confirmed to be from a big cat.

Apparently it's when they put a ban on owning these big cats in the 70s lots of people just let them free into the countryside and it seems that by chance they have been able to breed.

I would be up for it, we could perform some investigations and camp in the woods and wait for it.

They're crepuscular so your mum's story checks out in terms of timing and their eyes do reflect bright yellow. Their eyes have evolved to see well at dawn/dusk so they can hunt well in low light settings And they do get noticed a lot, but local people don't make a fuss about it because why would farmers/countryside people want journalists or idiots with guns trying to hunt them or make a YouTube vlog trespassing their land and clogging up their narrow country roads. Plus of course many don't want to risk their reputation for fear of being ridiculed and not believed. People do report sightings to the police though. Derbyshire Live did a freedom of information request from Derbyshire police and they published the listed sightings in an article I could say SO MUCH more on this topic but this will do for now
